Residents of the ‘Oasis Resort’ at Windang, are facing a daunting future, after reports they will be turfed-out, with no re-course.

Reports are that residents of the village, on the Eastern shores of Lake Illawarra, which has been owned by overseas interests for around 2 years, have been handed notice to leave within 90 days.

It’s understood the group of retirees and pensioners, many of whom have been in the homes for over 20 years, own the homes they live in – but lease the land those homes built on. Reports are the government is looking into the situation, the residents could access some compensation through the government.
